Viradhamma

Viradhamma has been practicing with the Triratna Community since 1980. In 1994 he became the first Westerner to be ordained into the Triratna Order in India. He leads introductory Dharma classes at the San Francisco Buddhist Center, where he also leads retreats, gives lectures and supports men who have asked for Ordination. Viradhamma is the Coordinator of the North American Mens Ordination Team and a Private Preceptor. He is also a member of the Triratna International Council, a group that coordinates Triratna activities around the world.

In addition to his work in North America, Viradhamma visits India regularly to support the educational, social and Dharma programs of the Triratna Order. He is an Advisor to the Nagaloka Centre, a residential school that trains young Buddhist activists in community organizing and Dharma teaching.

Viradhamma lives with his family in the East Bay and plays orchestral and chamber music in his spare time.
